MALAYSIA – Matcha has become popular, and beyond the big coffee chains, a number of matcha-focused specialty cafes have also emerged. But how much does a cup of matcha latte really cost? In this analysis, we’ll look at the minimum, median, and maximum prices for Matcha Latte and Flavoured Matcha Latte across Malaysia’s famous specialty matcha cafes:

Iced Matcha Latte
Most Affordable: Oh Cha Matcha and The Matcha Walla, with iced matcha lattes starting RM10 and under.

Middle Range: Where iced matcha lattes typically fall between RM11 – RM13. (Hulu Cafe, Saemidori, Macha & Macha and Kora Kora)

Premium End: Super Matcha leads the premium side, with the cheapest iced matcha latte at RM16, followed by Cha Ba Shi Ra at RM14.

Looking beyond the cheapest option, the median price tells us what you would typically pay at each chain (For iced matcha lattes & flavoured matcha lattes):

Most Affordable: Oh Cha Matcha again keeps things budget-friendly, with median price under RM12, while the median prices for Kora Kora and The Matcha Walla are both RM13.

Middle Range: Macha & Macha and Hulu Cafe fall between RM13.8 – RM13.9, just slightly below RM 14.

Premium End: Saemidori, Cha Ba Shi Ra & Super Matcha, are all above RM15.

Price Range
Oh Cha Matcha has a wide range of prices. Starting at RM 9.80 and going up to RM 18.90. Meanwhile for Macha & Macha, Kora Kora and Hulu Cafe, their drinks stay within a narrow band.
Cha Ba Shi Ra offers one drink priced at RM22, the Matcha Latté (Yu), a variation of the classic matcha latte made with YU matcha powder.
