Drink Price Comparison Across Popular Coffee Chains in Malaysia (July 2025)
MALAYSIA – How much are Malaysians spending on their daily caffeine or drink fix, and how do prices vary by drink type and brand? In this analysis, we compared the drink prices across selected coffee chains in Malaysia, focusing on four popular categories:
- Essential Coffee – includes classics like Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, and Flat White
- Flavoured Latte – includes common flavours (e.g., Vanilla, Hazelnut), and may also include layered drinks like Caramel Macchiato.
- Frappe – blended ice drinks such as Coffee Frappe, Mocha Frappe, and Caramel Frappe
- Tea-Based Drinks – both brewed and milk teas like English Breakfast, Earl Grey, and Lychee Tea
To ensure a fair comparison, we standardized sizes to medium/regular servings, typically around 16oz, and calculated the minimum, maximum, and median prices for each drink category by chain.
Methodology & Notes
Standardization: All prices are based on regular-sized drinks (≈16oz).
Scope: We used menu data from major chains:
- ZUS Coffee
- Kenangan Coffee
- Gigi Coffee
- HWC
- Tim Hortons
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
- Starbucks
