Malaysia’s Inflation Update
June 2026
Malaysia’s inflation eased slightly to 1.9% in June 2026, down from 2.0% in May. The pullback is modest but welcome: driven largely by easing in Transport and Personal Care. However, Insurance & Financial Services surged to 5.7%, keeping overall services inflation elevated.

Pahang leads Peninsular at 2.6%
Kelantan remains the lowest in Peninsular at 0.8%
W.P. Labuan eased to 2.3% from 2.6% in May
Sabah at 1.9%
Sarawak holds at 0.4%, still the lowest state nationally
The Peninsular vs East Malaysia divide persists. Sarawak continues to record inflation far below the national average.
